What To Say To a
Parent Of an Autistic Child
I made a post earlier talking about all of the things you shouldn't say when talking to the parent of an autistic child. Please remember, It’s important to offer support and understanding.
Here are some things you can say:
1. “You’re doing an amazing job as a parent. Your love and dedication to your child are evident.”
2. “I admire your strength and resilience in navigating the challenges that come with raising an autistic child.”
3. “Your child is lucky to have you as their advocate. Your commitment to their well-being is inspiring.”
4. “Remember that you’re not alone in this journey. There are support groups and resources available to help you and your child.”
5. “I’m here to listen whenever you need someone to talk to or share your experiences with. You can always count on me.”
6. “It’s great to see the progress your child is making. Your efforts and the therapy they receive are making a difference.”
7. “You are creating a loving and inclusive environment for your child, which will positively impact their development.”
8. “You’re doing a fantastic job in understanding and embracing your child’s unique strengths and challenges.”

Remember to be sincere and offer your support in a non-judgmental manner. Each parent’s experience may be different, so it’s essential to listen and adapt your support to their individual needs.
